Mmmmmm

Prague, Czech Republic

Prague. What a place. What great food. The Czech people have built a national cuisine out of carbs, meat, and beer (carbs); they have done it impressively well and somehow kept it affordable. Prague may be the only place in the world where you can get a three course meal with roasted duck as your entree for $5 USD… and walk away completely satisfied.

Prague never lets you go - this dear little mother has sharp claws.

Brandi and I of course did what we do best… ate our way through the city! We tried it all, from underground taverns (where the menus were in two languages: Czech and Dutch) to street side vendors to fancy high-class restaurants. Restaurant Nebozízek, at which a few of the pictures below were taken, was a particularly unforgettable experience. We were on our way up to the hill top to get a view of the city when the funicular (a vertical railcar made for mountains) made a stop midway. At this stop was Restaurant Nebozízek. Located on the side of Petřín Hill halfway between the city and the tower, this converted mansion offers a phenomenal Czech style menu, great service, and a panoramic view of the city. If you ever make it half way up Petřín Hill to this great little place, I suggest the panacotta.
