Wyoming
The least populated state (per square mile) in the lower 48… One of the most beautiful examples of the natural world in the US. Makes you wonder if these could be related…
This trip to Wyoming was my first real cognizant venture outside of the South - one of the first trips that really instilled in me a love of travel, an excitement for seeing new places. It was also my first time taking a trip with just my mom, and that will always be one of the most meaningful aspects. We made some great memories together, alongside my Aunt, Uncle, and cousin with whom we were staying/touring around. Unfortunately, dad didn’t have the luxury of free summers like mom and I, so he held down the fort at home that week and occasionally tuned into a live webcam at some famous monument or natural wonder (Old Faithful)
It seems that there was little we missed while up there - we covered the countryside and the mountains, camped in the Grand Tetons, explored Devils Tower, Crazy Horse Memorial, Mt. Rushmore, and even got to see Old Faithful blow (a great moment to share as a family, even with dad digitally present).
One day I’d love to go back up altogether - mom, dad, Brandi, and myself. A trip to a natural wonder is something that never gets old for me.
